Hugh Lowe Farms, strawberries supplier of Wimbledon

The Hugh Lowe Farms Ltd, a family company situated in Kent, provides the famous Wimbledon strawberries. Hugh Lowe Farms Ltd cultivates about 500 ha in Mereworth (Kent) , this is one of the largest companies of red fruit production in the United Kingdom. Hugh Lowe Farms provides all strawberries of the tennis tournament at Wimbledon, through the catering company FMC for over 20 years.

The strawberries, called Elsanta, harvested the day before, arrive every morning at 5:30 am at Wimbledon. This year, nearly 30 tons of strawberries are consumed at Wimbledon, or about 112,000 trays, served with 7000 liters of cream. The price for a dozen of strawberries is £ 2.50.
