According to data of FruitImprese, during the first quarter of 2013, Italy exported a total value of € 1.73 billion (7.8%) a volume of 947 000 tonnes (-12.4 %) of fruits and vegetables. All categories have increased in value terms: vegetables (3.5%), citrus (23%), fresh fruit (+10.5%), dried fruits (1.9%).
Over the same period, Italy imported a value of 726 million euros approximately 865 000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables.
