A 975.5-kilo pumpkin wins the first prize in the Valtierra International Giant Pumpkin Contest

Last September, a 975.5-kilo pumpkin, grown by English farmers, won first prize at the XIII Valtierra International Giant Pumpkin Competition (Navarra, Spain). The award consisted of 2,500 euros.

 

The second prize was achieved by a pumpkin of 553.8 kg (1,000 euros) grown in Santa María Palautordera (Catalonia); and in third place was a pumpkin weighing 538.4 kg (€600) produced in Corbera D'Ebre (Catalonia).

 

However, in this year's contest no fruit fought the 1,157.5 kilos of the Spanish record.
