Exports recovery towards Europe

Uganda takes its exports of Fruits & Vegetables to the EU, after more than a month off.
Following the discovery of non-compliant products to the European sanitary requirements, the authorities had declared a temporary ban on exports.
During the ban, all production and packaging sites were inspected and verified. The Ministry of Agriculture has given only to exporting companies evaluated the right to resume their activities.
The association of exporters evaluated the loss of USD 63.9 million during this period of stops shipments. The EU is the largest market for Ugandan fresh products with a turnover of over USD 800 million.
