Kesko will open a chain of supermarkets

Already in the Russian market with the chain K-Rauta, the Finnish group Kesko will now open a chain of supermarkets.
Kesko plans to open two supermarkets in St. Petersburg and in Leningrad and 2 others near Moscow . The investment will be 300 million. Kesko expects to achieve a sales volume of 500 million Euros in 3 years.
The Finnish distributor, which already operates 12 hardware stores in Russia, also plans to open 13 other stores in Russia by 2015.
Kesko is the leading distributor in Finland with its food stores K-Citymarket, K-supermarket, K-market and K-extra. He also has hardware stores, crafts, furniture, business machines and cars. Kesko is present in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus and Russia with about 2,000 stores in total.
