+33.5% increase in exports of fruits and vegetables, dragon fruit represent 40% of the total value.
Vietnam recorded a remarkable increase in exports of fruits and vegetables.
For the first half of this year, Vietnam's exports totaled U.S. $ 492 million, an increase of 33.5% compared to 2012, according to Vietnam News, which publishes data from the Ministry of Agriculture.
The main customers of Vietnamese exports China and Japan have increased their demand by 9.3% and 104% respectively. The other markets are South Korea, Thailand and the United States.
The most demanded fruit is the dragon fruit, which represented 40% of total export value. The producers' association plans to export 2,000 tons of dragon fruit this year. The other fruits exported are rambutan, mango, lychee and longan.
