Hurricane Florence threatening US East Coast
Hurricane Florence threatens the US East Coast, especially North and South Carolina, as the US National Hurricane Centre announced last Monday.
Florence is strengthening its force as it rapidly approaches the coastline, already categorized as 4 Storm, The National Weather Service has also warned regarding massive quantities of rain, predicting over a meter in some areas of the Mid-Atlantic states, including Georgia and Kentucky.
Florence, with sustained winds of 130mph, is on courseto become the first Category 4 storm to make a direct hit on North Carolina, and most probably becoming a Category 5 storm within the next 24 hours, even if it weakens before it hist the land.
The hurricane’s threat has caused supplies of food, drink and petrol to run out in some parts of the US East Coast where more than 1.5 million people have been ordered to evacuate.
Time is running out, as Friday morning is the anticipated landfall, and it takes 36 to 48 hours to evacuate the coast.
