Vietnamese mangos and grapefruit will be able to enter Chile and Chilean apples and cherries will be able to enter Vietnam.
An agreement was reached to allow Chilean apples and cherries to enter Vietnam and allow Vietnamese mangos and grapefruit to enter Chile.
Delegations from the two countries met in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). The agreement covers the entry of Vietnamese mangos and grapefruits in Chile and Chilean apples and cherries to Vietnam. Chilean apples can enter this month in Vietnam and Chilean cherries from August. Vietnamese grapefruit and mangoes will be able to enter Chli during this year.
Until now Chile exported only table grapes (2,032 tonnes for the 2017-18 season) to Vietnam. Chilean professionals believe that the opening up of Southeast Asian markets is a key factor for the development of the fishing industry.
