Dazzling Gold: new variety of pears.
During open day The Greenery, Next Fruit Generation (GFN) and New Sensations revealed a new variety of pear.
This new variety, property of NFG, known under the name of UTA or Gold Sensation, will be marketed under the brand “Dazzling Gold”.
Dazzling Gold presents a smooth surface, of color brown-gilt. Juicy, she can be consumed as pear of table and lends itself to numerous culinary preparations.
A varietal club is going to assure its international distribution. The production wants to adapt itself to consumers needs.
Plantations, realized by Capespan in South Africa will allow to guarantee an offer all year long. 13 ha of orchards are already installed in the Netherlands. New setting-up is planned in the next years, in particular in France from 2011.
350 in 400 tons should be available for the 2010/2011 season.
