Technical session in Huelva focused on financial support procedures and assistance available for affected producers.
Freshuelva has organised a technical session to inform the berry sector about the financial aid measures available following the recent storms that affected production areas in Huelva.
Around 50 technicians from associated companies attended the meeting, which focused on explaining the support measures announced by Spain’s central government and the Andalusian regional administration after the severe weather episodes that hit the province in recent weeks.
During the session, participants received information about the different aid mechanisms available for affected farms and agricultural infrastructure, as well as the administrative procedures required to access support programmes. The event also allowed companies to raise questions directly linked to damage assessment and compensation processes.
The meeting comes after a series of storms caused significant disruption to Huelva’s berry sector, affecting plantations, greenhouses and harvesting operations. Freshuelva previously estimated that export volumes had fallen by around 50% compared with the same stage of the previous campaign due to the weather impact.
Freshuelva said the technical session forms part of its ongoing work to support producers and improve coordination between companies and public administrations as the sector continues evaluating storm-related losses.
