The Fruits & Vegetables sector benefited from free trade agreements

A study shows that free trade agreements with Asian countries have greatly benefited Australian producers.

 
 
 
Australia has free trade agreements with China, Japan and South Korea. Since the entry into force of the agreements, Australian exports of fresh Fruits & Vegetables have increased significantly. The IBISWorld study notes that revenues grew by 19.9% ​​for fruits and 8.9% for vegetables.
 
 
 
Exports of citrus fruits, bananas and other fruits generated US $ 689.6 million for the current biennium. Exports of outdoor vegetables will generate 303.7 million AUSD in 2016-17, according to the study.
 
 
 
Citrus fruits, stone fruits, berries, almonds but also lettuce, broccoli, beans, cabbage and asparagus. Thus exports of asparagus to South Korea increased by 123% in value between 2014 and 2015. Fruit & Vegetable exports to Asian countries, particularly those with agreements with Australia, will continue to progress.
