Japan updates packing facilities for persimmon and strawberry exports to Thailand

Registered Japanese facilities are part of the phytosanitary system governing fresh fruit shipments to the Thai market.
Japan’s Plant Protection Station has updated its list of registered packing facilities for persimmons and strawberries exported to Thailand.
The revised list for the 2026 crop was published on 7 September.
Updated facility list
Thailand-bound Japanese fresh fruit covered by the bilateral export programme must pass through registered sorting and packing facilities.
For apples, pears, persimmons, kiwifruit and strawberries, current facility registrations are valid from 1 August 2026 until 31 July 2027.
Other registered products
Japan also maintains registered facilities for several other fresh products exported to Thailand, including peaches, cherries, grapes, aubergines, melons and tomatoes.
Export controls
The facility system forms part of the phytosanitary controls used to manage Japanese fresh fruit exports to Thailand and ensure shipments meet the agreed import conditions.
