Avocado production will increase further

Excellent year in in perspective for the production of avocados in Peru.

According to Maximixe, an advisory and perspectives body, the avocado production will increase by 17.2% for the next season. Between January and May 2013, the production had increased by 9.6% compared to the previous year, reaching 127,000 tons.

This expected growth is due to several positive factors: favorable weather conditions, increased access to water, good technology management, expected increasing returns, additional spaces in the northern coastal valley.
