The acquisition of Polish PTSL, here its Gdańsk site, underscores AGRO Merchants Group's desire to increase its scope in the main import / export markets.
AGRO Merchants Group, a global operator of cold storage and logistics solutions, today announced the acquisition of PTSL (Poland Services Transport - Logistyka). This acquisition represents the gateway to a new market for AGRO Merchants Group, which extends its geographic reach and service offer across Europe.
Established in 2007 as a transportation service provider, PSTL has grown rapidly in freight and clearance services and by 2015 has built a state-of-the-art 58,000 m3 refrigerated warehouse less than 1km from the Gdansk DCT terminal. The port of Gdańsk is experiencing strong growth and is emerging as an important international logistics center, with excellent road access to central and eastern Europe.
This acquisition reflects the desire of AGRO Merchants Group to expand its scope in the main import / export markets. "Poland and Eastern Europe are very important geographical areas for AGRO and this acquisition greatly expands our presence and services in this key market," said Jan Harthoorn, Vice President of Development Strategy for Europe.
This year, in January, AGRO opened a new site with a capacity of 18,000 pallets in Rotterdam-Maasvlakte. Then in February, AGRO bought out FRISSUL and FRIGOMATO which together constituted the first cold storage operator in Portugal. AGRO Merchants Group owns and operates 61 facilities in 11 countries in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.
