Greenhouse production increased by nearly 7%

In 2013 greenhouse crops in Russia rose significantly.

Vegetable production in greenhouses increased by 6.7% in 2013 compared to 2012, according to the National Bureau of Russian statistics. The highest growth rate returns to the Ural region with an increase of +28% recorded in 2013.

Production concerne mainly tomatoes, cucumbers, green leafy vegetables. The total area of ??all greenhouses in Russia is 1,800 hectares. Area that will continue to grow, many projects are underway as in the Belgorod region which has increased its surfaces 400-500 hectares.
