It will take one year of tests on tomatoes, peppers and citrus to see whether this discovery from British scientists work.
The dream of all producers is to accelerate or delay the ripening of fruit and vegetables.
British scientists at Leicester University have discovered what appears to be protein maturation with a degradation process in the cells of elements controlling photosynthesis. These
researchers have filed a patent.
They will now test their discovery on tomatoes, peppers and citrus. This work should take another 1 year before knowing whether "it works".
