Fruit and vegetable export season starts with lower volumes than last year

The exported volume of vegetables in Spain has decreased by 8% in January 2023, compared to January 2022, and that of fruit by 11%, according to data from the Department of Customs and Excise Taxes of the Tax Agency.
The value of shipments of vegetables increased by 5% (921 million euros) and that of fruit grew by 10% (725 million euros).

The value of the country's fruit and vegetable imports increased by 20.5%, amounting to 310 million euros, of which 113 million corresponded to vegetables (+17%) and 197 million to fruit (+22%).
