The European Chestnut Meetings are held in Tuscany

After Bologna (Italy), Ponferrada (Spain) and Alès (France), it is Marradi in Tuscany that will host the Rencontres 2017.
The 8th Rencontres Européens de la Châtaigne will be held this year in Marradi, Tuscany (Italy) on the 14th and 15th of September.
Since 2010, the European Chestnut Meetings have been organized by the AREFLH (Association of European Fruit, Vegetable and Vegetable Regions) in collaboration with the local chestnut organisms. For this 2017 edition: Centro di Studio and Documentazione sul Castagno, Città del Castagno, Start, Pro Locco Marradi, Strada del Marrone.
One of AREFLH's missions is to bring together the various actors in the sector for the exchange of information and the creation of partnerships. The European Rencontres de la Châtaigne confirms this.
This year's program includes a series of roundtables to discuss a number of issues (phytosanitary issues, trade issues, industrial transformation) and interventions on chestnuts in nutrition and research and innovation in Europe. Friday, September 15th, Technical Day with visit of the study, research and documentation center of the chestnut tree and the horticultural cooperative of Mugello Ltd. And experimental plots.
