Minister of Forest Resources, Veysel Eroglu, said it would launch an action plan to develop the culture of berries in the area of ??the Black Sea by 2019. One of the project goals is to diversify the crops grown in this region.
At the same time, it should increase the income of farmers. This year, 60 hectares were planted. In 2017, this area is expected to increase from 240 to 550 hectares in 2019 for a total planted area of ??2,000 hectares.
A Trabzon and Rize, two important cities of the region of the Black Sea, 400,000 shrubs have increased and 120 000 of these shrubs will be distributed to producers.
The Minister emphasized the potential development of the culture of wild blueberries in the region and ensure that the necessary infrastructure will be in place to support the development of production and processing of fruit in the villages. The old blueberry growing areas should be handed up in Artvin, Giresun, Ordu, Rize and Trabzon.
The Universities of the region also make the desired development and to diversify the range of products grown in the Black Sea. According to the Minister, it is not only to increase the income of farmers in the region, but also to create a cleaner environment for the inhabitants of the region.
