Citrus exports decreasing

According to data published by the Union of Mediterranean exporters, citrus exports is decreasing.
Decrease of 12% for easy peelers (easy to peel tangerines), of 21% for lemons, of 19% for oranges and of 7% for grapefruits in the period September 2012-February 2013, compared to last season. The decrease in quantity was partially offset by a rise in prices.
Citrus fruits are a large share of exports of fruit and vegetables from the country this year, with about 1.16 million tons exported until the end of February. In addition, they were the most exported fruits from Turkey in January and February, in this order: lemons, oranges, grapefruits. Next comes the pomegranate. The major importing countries are Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and Iraq.
