The Irish, Phil Hogan will succeed to Dacian Ciolos

Phil Hogan, Irish former Environment Minister Ciolos will succeed if the new European Commission is approved by Parliament within weeks.
Romanian Dacian Ciolos, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, had to stay 4 more years as head of European agriculture.
Jean-Claude Juncker, the new president of the European Commission has decided otherwise. According to his comments : "A dynamic and effective Commission ready to give new momentum to Europe. I assigned portofolios to individuals, not to countries. I put 27 players on the field, each of them has a specific role to play. This is my winning team !"
Phil Hogan, 54, held until recently as Minister of the Environment and Local Government. Unpopular in his country because it has implemented new taxes, no real ties to agriculture, can he really defend the interests of all European farmers ?
