Nearly 40% of early strawberries are lost

Preliminary estimates indicate a loss of 45% of planned production.
Strong winds and heavy rains devastated the greenhouses in the province of Huelva.
President Freshuelva Alberto Garrocho estimated losses at 40% for early strawberries and 50% for raspberries.
In the region more than 30% of plastic plantations are scattered on the ground, and others are flooded. The Union of Small Farmers said that the storm will cause a decrease of 45% of the initial production.
