BioSafe Systems introduced new thyme oil antimicrobial to protect crops
BioSafe Systems, one of the leaders in biopesticide products, announced their partnership with Lidan Inc., specialist in the research and development of biopharmaceuticals for use in healthcare and life sciences. They will exclusively manufacture, market and distribute Guarda®, a new crop protection solution.
Guarda is a liquid bactericide/fungicide, formulated with the power of thyme oil, using its EPA tolerance exempt/minimal risk inert HOLDit® technology, making it an effective chemistry crop protection. It is the first EPA-registered crop protection product in the US with thyme oil as the registered active ingredient. Moreover, its formula has no analogues, since thyme oil is standardized for its active content, thymol. The power of Guarda's active ingredient is strengthened by the HOLDit polymer technology, which allowing it to remain active for a certain period, extending performance against plant pathogenic organisms. Without HOLDit, thyme oil becomes ineffective, since the active ingredient thymol volatilizes in the environment, preventing for correct contact time to destroy microorganisms. This inert technology extend the efficiency of crops without any limitations or restrictions.
Rob Larose, CEO of BioSafe Systems, said, "We are happy to be working with Lidan to introduce this new product to the North American agricultural and horticultural markets. This proprietary blend improving action against bacteria and fungi."
