Situation on grapefruit market in third week of December 2009

The market has remained unchanged. Sales of Floridian fruits have improved, thanks to the engagement of some promotions, but have not tremendously as usual in December. Arrivals have decreased further and have remained far lower than the year before (cumulated last 3 weeks deliveries 100 000 boxes lower than last year). Prices have remained unchanged. No change also regarding Mediterranean fruits. Arrivals have decrease but have remained above the average for both Israel and Turkey. Demand has continued to be poor, but prices have kept the same level.
