The acquisition of Cecab activities in Russia increases of Bonduelle in an expanding market.
Bonduelle (French leading canned vegetable produce) is in negotiations with the cooperative group Cecab (No. 2 in canned vegetables) to buy Cecab plants located in Russia and the CIS countries (former USSR).
The main Russian plant of the Cecab group is only twenty kilometres from that of Bonduelle. To supply the plant, which has with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes, Cecab leased
6,000 hectares of land.
The plant is close to saturation Bonduelle. This acquisition should strengthen the industrial capacities of Bonduelle (2 factories in Hungary, one in Russia).
Bonduelle has recorded a sales increase of 10.7% to 1.726 billion euros. Its net profit was down from 58.3 million euros to 30.4 million.
