A hard season start up for the apple
The season start up is quite hard for the apples grown in the Hautes Alpes and Alpes de Haute Provence departments.
The 2009 season seems to be a very good year for the Alps grown apple, the quantity remains the same as the 2008 harvest (around 100 thousand tons), the quality is great, with a nice coloured apple and good size.
But, despite that, the season longs to start.
The 2008 season ended late and sorely, the situation is the same for this season start up.
The usual buyers, such as Spain and Algeria, long to manifest themselves and the national market is slow. The rates are too low, so this doesn't boost the market launch of the apples.
