Costa Rica plans to expand its markets

Procomer , the agency for foreign trade was on Fruit Logistica with a business delegation of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica exported in 2014 pineapples for a total value of 880 million US , 52% from sales in the United States. Another important part, around 44% came from exports to the European Union.

The remaining 4% came from other countries of the world , particularly Asia.The industry expects the upcoming opening of the Chinese market , which could change the current structure of pineapple exports .
