Egypt plans to cultivate additional land through the expertise of Spanish companies.
The Egyptian government's vast project to recover land from the desert and to introduce suitable technologies to transform it into arable land is being realized through agreements with companies from the Murcia region of Spain.
NSPO, the project development agency of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, has signed agreements with AGRITECH, the platform that includes fifteen companies (Novedades Agrícolas, Azud, Hydroponic Systems, Solplast, Industrias David, Rufepa Tecnoagro ). Technological solutions, irrigation systems, manufacture and installation of greenhouses, filtration systems, computerized management of irrigation.
Collaboration has already begun with the project to install 250 hectares of greenhouses. The Egyptian government plans to recover about 80,000 hectares of additional agricultural land from the desert in the south of the country thanks to the expertise of Spanish professionals.
