After a period of decline, exports of bananas are rising again
Cameroon recorded a recovery in its banana exports during the first five months of 2017.
The ASSOBACAM (Cameroon Banana Association) statistics show that overseas sales reached 116 812 tons between January and May 2017. That is an increase of 323 tons compared to 116 489 tons exported during the same period in 2016.
This recovery in exports suggests that the target of 500 000 tons of bananas exported by 2022 is achievable.
