Collaboration in post-harvest areas and proposed trade agreement between Pakistan and the Philippines.
Pakistan and the Philippines have decided to collaborate in the post-harvest area (rice, bananas ...) and a possible trade agreement.
A JEC (joint economic commission), recently brought together representatives of the two countries. They presented potential export products for their respective markets. Pakistan and the Philippines agreed to collaborate in the area of post-harvest management and processing (rice, bananas, etc.) and to explore the possibilities of a bilateral preferential trade agreement.
Trade between the two countries totaled USD 150 million in the 2016-17 financial year. Pakistan imported USD 15 million worth of products from the Philippines and exported to the Philippines for USD 135 million.
