TOMRA announces Regional Sales Director EMEA for TOMRA Processed Food

TOMRA Food announces the appointment of Christian Tougaard as Regional Sales Director EMEA for TOMRA Processed Food, following the reorganization earlier this year of TOMRA Food into two separate business areas, TOMRA Fresh Food and TOMRA Processed Food. 

TOMRA Processed Food is focused on sorting and peeling potatoes, dried fruits, nuts, fresh cut fruit and veg, and proteins.

Christian Tougaard will closely cooperate with TOMRA Processed Food’s team, partners, and clients in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He reports to TOMRA Processed Food VP and Head of Global Sales, Karel Strubbe, who was promoted from his previous position of Regional Sales Director EMEA this January.

Karel commented that these changes are part of the company’s strategy to tailor solutions for sorting and peeling precisely to the specialized needs of various food categories. They are also part of their initiatives to work closely with customers. By understanding their customers’ needs, they provide them with the best possible solutions and data analysis to help improve efficiencies and minimize costs.

Christian has vast experience in business-to-business sales of processing solutions to the global food and environment industries. Before TOMRA, he has been working at Alfa Laval for 12 years, managing business organization development in different roles during the times when the business developed significantly.

Christian highlighted that he was attracted to TOMRA Food by its focus on sustainability, expertise in sorting solutions, and the people he has met at the company.
