Cherries: 2024 production in France is estimated to be up 12%

According to the latest estimates, cherry production in 2024 should be 12% up on 2023 and 23% up on the 2019-2023 average.
A publication of Agreste Conjoncture, issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, announces that cherry production in France, based on data as at 1 May 2024, is estimated at 37,700 tonnes.
This represents an increase of 12% on 2023 and 23% on the average harvest from 2019 to 2023.
Production is expected to rise in the main producing regions: Occitanie (+21%), Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (+10%), Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (+10%).
The total area under production is 7,300 hectares, down 2% over 1 year and 3% over 5 years.
