Chile blueberry export volume rises 2.7% in 2025-26 season

Chile’s fresh blueberry exports for the 2025-26 season reached 92,900 tonnes, marking a 2.7% increase compared with the previous campaign, according to Frutas de Chile. Shipments of new varieties rose 14%, while traditional varieties declined 1%, with new genetics accounting for 24% of total exports, up from 21% a year earlier.
Europe remained the leading destination with 46,768 tonnes, representing 50% of total exports and a 20% increase year on year. The Netherlands recorded growth of 25%, while the United Kingdom rose 5%. The United States ranked second with a 37% share despite a 13% decline in volume, while Canada expanded 32%. Shipments to Asia fell 7%, mainly due to lower exports to China, although Taiwan increased 84% and South Korea 11%.
Exports to Latin America grew 11.7%, with Argentina accounting for 59% and Brazil 19%, together representing 88% of shipments to the region. On the production side, the Maule region contributed 37% of total exports, followed by Ñuble with 26%.
