Australia allows import of pineapples from Taiwan

After 5 years of study and negotiation, fresh pineapples grown in Taiwan can enter the Australian market.

 

 

 

 

The Australian Department of Agriculture has published the official notice authorizing imports of fresh pineapples grown in Taiwan, with immediate effect.

 

 

 

 

Taiwan produces 430,000 tonnes of pineapple per year. In 2019, its pineapple exports reached 50,000 tonnes for a value of around $60 million.
