In New Zealand the Kiwiberry is a niche market but it has recorded spectacular gains.
According to the Association of Producers, Kiwiberry exports increased from 95,000 trays last year to 105,000 trays this year.
The strongest demand came from China, while market share in the United States appear to have been won by Chile.
Most of New Zealand's production comes from the area " Bay of Plenty " where crops cover less than 100 hectares.
