In the first seven months of 2024, agro-industrial exports from Lambayeque, one of Peru's leading agricultural production regions, generated $271,680,000. This represents a 25.8% decrease compared to the $366,186,000 obtained during the same period in 2023, according to data provided by the ADEX Data Trade Commercial Intelligence System.
During this period, the main destination countries were the United States, with revenues of $86,938,000, representing a 13.7% drop; the Netherlands, which reached $75,215,000 with a decrease of 32.8%; Spain, which added $24,788,000 (-12.5%); and the United Kingdom, which experienced a notable decline of 41.3% with a total of $20,485,000.
Over these seven months, the most exported products included avocados with $86,652,000, blueberries generating $63,796,000, passion fruit juice with a value of $18,961,000, fresh or dried mangoes with $15,473,000, and fresh asparagus totaling $13,041,000. These foods stood out for their significance in the region's exports.
