Moroccan exports fell by 3% for tomatoes and 22% citrus) in 2012 compared to the previous season.
In Morocco, exports of fruits and vegetables have declined.
Until mid-December 2012 Morocco exported 331,300 tons of fruit and vegetables against 381,430 tons the previous season, a decline of about 15%. Adverse weather conditions caused the reduction. Headlines fell 4% and citrus, all varieties
, 22%.
Tomato exports totaled 120,584 tons against 123,719 tons in the same period the previous season, a decrease of 3%. In terms of turnover, Moroccan tomato export recovered slightly and exporters remain optimistic for the remainder of the season.
