With exports of only 55 000 tonnes of persimmons, 18 000 tonnes less than the previous year, Uzbekistan lost its position as one of the top 3 world leaders in terms of khakis exports.
According to the national media, the volume of Uzbekistan's exports of persimmons in 2018 totaled 55,000 tons, 18,000 tons less than in 2017. This decline in volume has caused the country to lose its position as the world's third-largest persimmons exporter. China has become the world's third largest exporter behind Spain (1683 00 tonnes) and Azerbaijan (150 900 tonnes).
The international trade of persimmons is 600 to 700,000 tons per year and between 500 and 600 million USD. Russia is the largest importer in the world, with more than 160 000 tonnes of persimmons worth around 130 million USD.
