With this new schedule for EU products imported to the UK: phytosanitary certificates and physical checks will not begin to apply until July 1, 2022.
The UK government has set a new timetable, a pragmatic timetable according to the press release, for the introduction of full checks on goods imported from the EU to the UK.
This new pragmatic timeline includes:
.The pre-notification requirements for sanitary and phytosanitary products (SPS / Sanitary and Phytosanitary), which were to be introduced on October 1, 2021, will now be introduced on January 1, 2022.
.The new requirements for Export Health Certificates, which were supposed to be introduced on October 1, 2021, will now be introduced on July 1, 2022.
.Phytosanitary certificates and physical checks of SPS goods at border control posts, which were to be introduced on January 1, 2022, will now be introduced on July 1, 2022.
.Import safety and security declarations will be required from July 1, 2022 instead of January 1, 2022.
With this new timetable, the British government shows that it has heard from professionals calling for a new approach to give companies more time to adapt.
