Musgrave MarketPlace the “next generation“ of wholesaling
PE
Foodservice, retail and SME wholesaler Musgrave MarketPlace, part of Musgrave Northern Ireland and the wider Musgrave Group, has launched its new ‘Next Generation Food Emporium’ in Duncrue industrial estate, Belfast, following a £600,000 investment.
The upgrade is part of an ongoing Musgrave MarketPlace commitment to redefine food and beverage wholesaling and deliver a best-in-class experience for customers. Committed to making business easy for foodservice and wholesale customers, the Musgrave MarketPlace Belfast Food Emporium, which is also open to the public, now boasts over 500 additional products, upgraded food and beverage zones, alongside an enhanced food theatre which will see product demonstrations, menu planning and training services for customers, led by a dedicated development chef, as well as facilitating leading industry events.
Both food service and retail customers
Upgrades at the Belfast site, which serves over 23,000 hospitality and retail customers, include an enhanced beverage zone with more than 850 products on offer across premium spirits. A ‘Foods of the World Zone’ which sources the best of local and authentic foods, includes dedicated areas for Italian food range Italicatessen, as well Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican, Thai and USA products.
Ambitions of net zero carbon emissions
Supporting Musgrave’s ambition of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040, the branch has been refitted with energy saving technology to make operations more efficient and reduce carbon footprint. This includes energy efficient LED lighting, doored refrigeration and freezers, plus digital screens. Solar panels, installed earlier this year following a £550,000 investment and covering 3,800 sqm, are estimated to deliver energy savings of £1.53 million and generate 6 million KwH of clean electricity over the next 15 years. Musgrave MarketPlace is part of the Musgrave Group, which includes a number of specialist and premium foodservice brands, including "La Rousse Foods" and "Italicatessen".
