A production of 15,000 tons of cherries is planned.
The cooperatives association of the Valley of Jerte anticipates production of 15,000 tons of cherries this year.
The harvest began with small tonnages and were distributed in Spanish markets. After the rise in production, exports will begin firstly to Italy, France, United Kingdom and Germany, then to the whole Europe.
The Association anticipates production of 15,000 tons but this figure is given with caution. The influence of the weather is important and this figure could vary. Recently, the rain has damaged fruits.
