Meeting of the banana sector at the International Forum

The association of banana exporters in Ecuador (AEBE) organizes each year, since 2004, an International Forum of bananas.

 
The 8th edition was held in Guayaquil until April 7th. This event brings together key players in the banana sector (production, trade, services, logistics, transportation, supplies) to share experiences and perspectives.

 
Topics covered this year :

- the FAO studies,
- the factors affecting consumption of bananas in Europe,
- control of Sigatoca Negra,
- global trends in packaging,
- projected sales of bananas in the U.S. and in the EU,
- technological innovations of fertilization,
- post harvest handling,
- social responsibility and environmental responsibility of the banana 
- effects of climate change on the banana plantations.

 
There will be a participation of professionals from around the world: Brazil, Cuba, Philippines, Costa Rica, United States, Russia, Guatemala, Honduras, Colombia, Europe, Africa.
