La Studieuse with 6,000 metric tons of in-house production
The Roussillon-based company hopes to sell more than 6,000 metric tons of stone fruit from its own orchards this season, which has seen strong market momentum.
SARL Les Fruits du Roussillon, also known under the brand name “La Studieuse,” cultivates more than 200 hectares of stone fruit orchards in Roussillon. “We hope to sell 6,000 metric tons of peaches, nectarines, and apricots this season; our entire supply comes exclusively from our own production,” say David and Marie Massot, managers of the family-owned company.
For three generations
Specializing in summer fruits and vineyards since 1940, the Massot family manages three production sites in Castelnou, Thuir, Corbère, and Salses. Nearly all of the orchards have been replanted with the best available varieties, with a production potential of over 7,000 metric tons within three years. La Studieuse’s projected output is estimated at 4,200 metric tons of nectarines, 1,800 metric tons of peaches, and 1,000 metric tons of apricots, sold from May 5 through the end of September.
Diverse Customer Base, quality guaranteed
La Studieuse meets the key quality standards required by major French, Belgian, and German retailers—its primary customers. Its main certifications include GlobalGAP, the GRASP SPRING and “Chain-of-Custody” modules, FSSC 22,000, as well as the AH DLL GROW module for the Albert Heijn and Delhaize chains. SARL Les Fruits du Roussillon also complies with the French HVE and Vergers Ecoresponsables standards, as a member of the Pêches et Abricots de France AOP. “We now have a well-organized national summer fruit supply chain, which ensures that major retailers prioritize French-grown produce throughout the season; it also secures fruit quality through the Vergers Ecoresponsables label" says
