Fruit exports, which account for 67% of total exports in terms of quantity and 80% in value, increased by 35% to reach a value of $ 80.9 million. On the other hand, a drop in vegetable exports of 21 percent is recorded.
It is the grapes that make up 37% of total exports and rank first in fresh produce exported, followed by figs, which obtained excellent prices for sale and fishing. Tomato is only 4th with 17% of total exports.
Russia returned to first place in importing countries, while in August 2016 its imports were virtually non-existent, accounting for 31% of total Turkish exports. Indeed, since the beginning of June, Russia has reopened the door to certain fresh Turkish products such as table grapes, apples, pears, cucumbers, among others. Germany is in second place, despite a 19% drop in imports and Saudi Arabia in 3rd place.
Note the increase of imports of Qatar, which reach 1.6 million dollars.
