Peru’s fresh onion exports reach US$23.5 million through April 2026

Peru exported US$23.58 million FOB of fresh onions between January and April 2026, up 4.6% year-on-year, while shipment volume increased 7.9% to 60,950 tonnes, according to Agrodata Peru.
Average export prices remained stable at US$0.39 per kilo.
January generated the highest returns at US$13.19 million FOB from 33,951 tonnes, followed by February with US$7.41 million and 18,485 tonnes. Exports slowed in March and April, with April shipments reaching US$1.18 million from 3,320 tonnes.
Spain was the leading market, taking 39% of total exports at US$9.2 million FOB. The United States followed with US$6.13 million and a 26% share, while Colombia accounted for US$5.76 million, representing 24% of exports.
Other destinations included Haiti (US$716,617), the Dominican Republic (US$500,642), Costa Rica (US$378,642), Chile (US$226,280), and Bolivia (US$148,841).
