Asda expects to open 168 stores in 2011.
Asda, which is owned by the US retail Wal-Mart, brought 194 stores of the Danish discount chain Netto in May.
The Office of Fair Trading has asked Asda to leave the 47 stores for competitive reasons.
The 147 Netto stores, located primarily in northern England and the Midlands, will become Asda.

The acquisition will allow the group, which typically runs large supermarkets in out-of-town locations, to greatly expand its portfolio of smaller stores.
Asda will also open seven superstores, four Asda Livings, 10 supermarkets and 5 extensions to existing branches.
