China launches registration system to better monitor food imports.
China has launched a system of registration of imports of food products as the health administration aims to strengthen food security with strict monitoring of imports.
Since October 1, the variety and the place of origin of all food products must be indicated,
with lot numbers showing the importer or recipients in China for then these products to receive a number identification. The administration has opened a website where exporters and importers can find more information.
