National Pear month has started

In the USA, as every year since 2004, December is National Pear Month.

 

 

 

This Pear Month is the perfect time to celebrate the abundance and variety of American pears. In the country, the main pear producing states are Washington and Oregon, which produce 88% of fresh American pears. The 10 varieties produced are Green Anjou, Red Anjou, Bartlett, Red Bartlett, Bosc, Comice, Concorde, Forelle, Seckel and Starkrimson.

 

 

 

This year, for the 4th time, also takes place World Pear Day which marks the beginning of Pear Month. Various events including tastings and promotions organized by USA PEARS take place in more than 24 countries, including Mexico, Indonesia, Taiwan, India, Dubai, Vietnam, New Zealand.
