First B2B matchmaking event dedicated to international professionals in Sharm El Sheikh
On 6-8 December all main Egyptian food export companies will gather in Sharm El Sheikh for the first B2B matchmaking event dedicated to international professionals.
The meeting is organized by the Egyptian Exporters Association (Expolink), in cooperation with Egypt's leading organizations AEC (Agriculture Export Council), the Food Export Council and the Industrial Modernization Centre (IMC). It will be a unique opportunity for international buyers to meet with all main Egyptian producing and exporting companies, to make contacts and discuss closely on business opportunities.
“The organizers thought of Sharm El-Sheikh as an international city that can be alternative to the crowded Cairo and can provide an attractive atmosphere for exhibitors and visitors to meet and discuss business - explains Sherif El Beltagy, chairman of AEC as well as of Belco private company -. The fair is also organizing visits to the exhibitors’ farms and packhouses for those who are interested”, he added. “The exhibition will be attended by a great number of international receivers (around 1,000 are expected) who already confirmed their participation”, the chairman continues. These include importers, wholesalers, distributors, as well as representatives of discount stores, retail chains and supermarkets.
More than 200 Egyptian companies will present their high quality products: fresh such as strawberries, citrus, onions, potatoes, grapes, capsicum, green beans, iceberg, etc.,as well as processed food products (like juice, dairy products, olive oil, olives, frozen fruit and vegetables etc.) and cut flowers.
“Fresh Produce is a sub-sector of the fair, exhibitors are limited this year to 20-25 companies, while food industries have a bigger share of over 100 companies - Mr. El Beltagy adds.“There are suggestions to have this fair as a permanent annual exhibition for food processing and fresh produce. I’m sure the fresh food sector will definitely enjoy more participation in forthcoming editions of the fair”, he highlights.
