Satsumas season begins

According to the joint commission in order to establish the degree of ripeness of fruit and fix the date of harvest and export, satsumas grown in the Mediterranean region can be exported from today while fruits from the Aegean region will not be harvested until October 20 to be exported October 26. Almost a week later than last year.

Exports in 2014-2015 had fallen by about 20 percent but Russia has increased its imports by 25 percent in quantity. As against Ukraine, Saudi Arabia and Romania decreased their imports by half . This season will be promising, it seems.
